Aspheric Lens Testing

Complex form of today's aspheric lenses requires that aberrations of both low and high orders be measured with high accuracy. PhaseView's WaveGauge® is a system comprising Digital Wavefront Camera (DWC®), specialized light source, customizable lens holder and GetWave® software. WaveGauge® acquires image of the lens and simultaneously and to the same resolution measures lens aberrations. This feature provides both the possibility of detecting small imperfections (dust, scratches, dots) on the surface of the lens and measuring the imaging ability of the lens with such characteristics as PSF, MTF, Strehl ratio and Zernike polynomial terms. WaveGauge® features absolute accuracy of λ/100 over entire dynamic range with repeatability of λ/1000 with resolution of about 250 000 measurement points (about 500 x 500 pixel matrix) per aperture diameter of 5 mm.
