As a value added add-on digital system to an existing optical microscope, BioPhase® is compatible with any optical microscope equipped with a video port and standard brightfield objectives. In addition, fluorescence, confocal or TIRF images can be acquired using the same objective, providing simultaneously phase contrast imaging. BioPhase® does not preclude using the other imaging modalities such as confocal microscopy, fluorescent imaging, thus offering the possibility of high - content screening with one optical microscope. For example, fluorescence images can be used to locate a cell constituent (like the cell's kernel) in the 3D representation of the cell provided by BioPhase®. Unlike DIC or Phase Contrast techniques with halo or gradient side effects, BioPhase delivers true quantitative phase data for counting or volume measurements. [Images are courtesy of T.
